Penn Township awarded $160,000. Brad Hawk, Hawk’s Landscaping – also helped with the design and construction of the horseshoe pit area, and plant information and design for a small wetland area on the park site. Garth Shipman –advice and contact with Rep Fairchild’s office and DCED grant money Peggy Chamberlain – publicity contact and connection to Sen. Gordner’s office. Tom Deans, consultant, worked with the township and the rec committee to get the 2005 DCNR grant application submitted Robert Anderson, Mid-Penn Engineering – putting up with our many changes in the original design in preparation for the 2005 DCNR grant submission. Mid-Penn Engineering – donated work as in-kind services, approx. $4800. Robin Bieber, township secretary, general administrative assistance, have a question, ask Robin! Mary Murphy-Kahn – finding us an artist, pick up, and delivery of the wood used for the sign, now standing at the rec fields Jim Youngman Sr. – donating his paint, time and talent for the sign at the rec fields Jim and Tracy Youngman – helping to commission the sign painter Darlene Hoffman – time served in planning meetings Joe Dubaskas – time served in initial planning Dan Kuruna – time served (lots of it….years), in the planning of the park Michelle Sears – time served in the design and planning meetings, secretarial duties, walking the streets to pass out flyers, and much enthusiasm Katie Savidge – time served in the planning and design meetings, secretarial duties, making presentations to then, Sen. Rick Santorum’s office, for senate appropriations monies…………J Beth Kapsar – keeper of all things financial Bob Bausinger, Director of Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA and their interest in the possibility of a Y being located on the park site Matt Sauers – time served in the initial planning meetings Jeanne and Lee Aughenbaugh – also time served in the initial planning of the park Tom Badman – continued support from Snyder County Midget Football with the planning and design Todd Raup – Our contact with Sen. Gordner and DCED grant money Rep. Russ Fairchild – help in applying for the monies from the senate appropriations committee and the DCED grant submission that netted Penn Township $30,000. Senator John Gordner – help getting DCED grant monies, Penn Township awarded $25,000. Underhill Excavating - $500. discount on excavation work at the horseshoe pits Dave Gutelius Excavating - $3835. discount/donation of services at horseshoe pits Jerry Soper – original idea and design for our ESP logo Brian Tomko – time served in meetings in the planning of ESP Jill and Brian Tomko – lots of advice and help with grant applications Snyder County Commissioners - recommended approval of CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) funds, Penn Township awarded $47,174. Glenda Ruch and Bill Siegle – our contacts at SEDA-COG who helped with the CDBG grant application Bruce Teats – helped with initial planning. Also our Penn Township representative on the Comprehensive Multi-Municipal Recreation Planning Commission (see other info on this commission from home page) Kevin Cook, Director of Sales and Marketing at Playworld Systems, Inc., time, advice, direction and knowledge in the general marketing of ESP, play equipment, play equipment requirements, and where to find great buys on said play equipment…………..:) Lori Cook – much help and support to Kevin and our rec committee. Can write a grant in a moments notice……….KaBOOM! Justin Keister and Chris Sheaffer, Larson Design Group – the technical people! Both seemed to be interested above and beyond the contract with their firm. Mike Piecuch – our contact in the House Judiciary Committee when we needed a little assistance from the Dept. of General Services in Harrisburg Bill Rearden – timed served in meetings and planning of the park and work done searching for much needed fill Monroe Township – lots of excess fill from a waterline project and Tom Badman as the Monroe rep on the board of the 501 c 3 Shamokin Dam Boro – sending us Malcolm Fleming to assist with our project planning and to represent the Boro on the board of our 501 c 3 Washington Township – sending Paula Confer to represent them in the planning of ESP Bob Stranko – presenting to the Snyder County Commissioners our request for Growing Greener Money Paul Harro - organizing the Jack Steffen memorial Pete DeWire and Brenda Moyer – attending CDBG funding meetings at the courthouse, and commissioners meetings which resulted in $47,000+ Pete DeWire and Larson Design Group – providing at a moments notice, photos and plans required for the numerous applications Dick Norman – time served in the planning and on the board of the 501 c 3 Spouses and family members who allow all of us to put time into this project All who attend the rec meetings and will continue to do so, and those who came out to the public meetings in support of East Snyder Park Brenda Moyer - The main person behind the scenes of this entire project.
