April 19 to 25, is National Volunteer Week 2009: "Celebrating People In Action" It is a week dedicated to volunteering and taking action in your community to help the community. It presents an opportunity for individuals, families, nonprofit organizations and government entities alike to come together to accomplish extraordinary things through service. During this year's National Volunteer Week celebration, thousands of volunteers throughout the country will participate in a variety of innovative, grassroots community projects designed to engage volunteers and community members in building strong, vibrant neighborhoods. This years local regional undertaking will include building, revitalizing & rehabilitating of East Snyder Park, developing community gardens and much more.
