As a Selinsgrove High School Senior project Amber Sechrist set her project and goal on helping to build the East Snyder Regional Park, located in Penn Township.  The park is situated on 40 acres just north of Selinsgrove on University Avenue.  Amber donated a check in the amount of $1,057.00 collected from the operation of the Haunted House last Halloween.  The money has been used to help with various projects at the playground such as, Metal Rollup Doors for the Little League and Horseshoe League Storage Building, Benches, Picnic Tables, Tether Ball Court, Landscape Plantings and Sports Field Improvements.

Overheard at the Park Playground

Mom to young tyke: "We are going home to eat lunch & change your pants" (To busy playing to go to the bathroom).  Young tyke to Mom: "But mom I don't want to go home and eat lunch.  I'm not hungry."

East Snyder Park Quickly Progressing As Planned
Welcome to The East Snyder Park Website.  Our park is located on the Route 522 end of University Avenue.  We are expanding the recreation area from the three original ball fields that have been there for years to a 40 acre regional recreational facility for all ages to enjoy.

The past year has been a year of upgrading the ball fields, building the bocce ball courts, planting trees, shrubs and perennials for a friendlier look, constructing drainage facilities, building pathways, scorers/press platform, ADA accessibility facilities, hosting tournaments including horseshoes, midget football practice, little league baseball, and softball leagues (Girls, women's & men's church league).

Recently there were new games added: Tether Ball, Bocci & Hopscotch

If you were a cricket in the topsoil pile next to the playground you would witness the steady flow of families, day care & children playing and having fun.  Many of these are children whose family member has a game or practice on one of the recreation fields.

As the day ends the sunsets are spectacular, the geese are flying low on their way to the Isle of Que and tranquility sets in!

A big thank you to the Penn Township Crew who maintains our park and always keeps it looks tidy.

The storm water pond has been constructed for the control of water runoff from the park.  As you can see with grants, foundations, donations & volunteers things are getting done.  Please check out our
"Wish List" maybe you or your company/organization/individual can help us with the park.

A place to have fun for all ages.
Many hands make the load lighter volunteers are always welcome.
