Whose tireless efforts, leadership, and sincere dedication to the leisure time needs of the people of the Selinsgrove Area, led to the construction of the first softball field on East end of these grounds.

Without the efforts of Jack Steffen and others, the Selinsgrove area slowpitch softball league may have never existed. If it would have found a way to be developed without him, it surely would not have been as successful as it was. Steffen Field, built decades ago, was named and dedicated in the name of Jack Steffen out of courtesy from the Selinsgrove softball league back in the 1970's. The facility was the birth of Selinsgrove softball, and has set high standards for quality slowpitch softball leagues both mens and womens. Thanks Jack.
The lands West of the original field are now evolving into East Snyder Park. A recreation for all regional facility.
