Ken & Dora Battram Horseshoe Facility Sponsor
Ken Battram had this dream of following one of his passions in life and that was to build a first class National Sanctioned Horseshoe Throwing Facility. He proceeded to make this dream a reality by sponsoring the great Horseshoe Facility now in place at the East Snyder Park. It all started with a simple hand drawn sketch on a piece of paper that was developed into a layout and construction plan. With a lot of help and coordination from the officials of the East Snyder Park and the Penn Township Supervisors construction began in the spring of 2007. Free fill was secured from many local contractors and he was underway. The facility has nine throwing pits, it is completely fenced and is lighted for nighttime events. Ken knew there were doubts that this would work but upon completion a Tuesday Night Horseshoe League was formed, the Senior Olympics hosted two events and the Pennsylvania Horseshoe Pitchers Association hosted a tournament (49 Throwers). Build it and they will come which was Ken's attitude.
